Music
I produce music in a home studio using Ableton Live along with various equipment used to either give me greater control over my software (with knobs, sliders, and keys) or to take the load off of my aging G5 Power Mac. My first album, Blue Sky Objective, was written almost entirely in Propellerheads Reason which I recommend to any aspiring musician. Requiring a greater width and breadth of sound for future releases, I have begun delving into soft-synths from Native Instruments.
See the Emulsion website for more information and sound samples.
I also promote a monthly event at Sonotheque, devoted to live and interesting electronic music. Past artists have included Arctic Hospital, Proswell, Tycho, He Can Jog, with Machine Drum coming soon. I'm one of the resident DJ's at the night, spinning a blend of ambient, dubby techno, and IDM that is relatively underground in Chicago.
Check out the Ramp Chicago website for photos of past shows and listings for future events.
